Welcome to the Professional Auditions and Technical Interviews (PA/TI). We are excited to offer Festival 55 registrants an opportunity to network with regional and national producers who are seeking talented performers and technicians. We look forward to meeting and working with you during Festival 55!

Registration Process
- This event is free for Festival registrants. Please wear your festival badge to the Sunday check-in.
- A link to the registration form is at the bottom of this page. After you click on the event category, drop down menus appear to walk you through the submission process.
- Professional Auditions and Technical Interview registrations will be accepted through January 20. All registration is on-line. There is no registration on-site at the festival.
- You may register for both professional auditions and technical interviews.
- Check-in for all registrants of PA/TI is Sunday, January 22nd 3:00 – 6:30 PM CST.
- If you need a later check-in time or day, please contact Patricia at patricia.downey@usd.edu.
- Within one-hour of registering, you should receive an email confirming your registration. Bring an electronic or hard-copy of this email to Sunday check-in. If you do not receive the confirmation email, please contact patricia.downey@usd.edu.
- As part of the registration process, you will be asked to provide an email address for a faculty mentor. This mentor will be contacted by us, via email, to confirm that you are a bonafide student according to KCACTF criteria.
- All registrants will receive information about the location of the auditions, callbacks, and interviews at the Sunday check-in.

Professional Audition Process
- Professional Auditions are Tuesday, January 24th between 8:00 AM and 7:00 PM. At check-in you will be assigned a one-hour slot.
- Bring your festival badge with you to auditions.
- Please bring to the Sunday check-in a list of other events you are committed to on Tuesday, January 24th. We will do our best to work around your commitments when assigning an audition time.
- Call backs are Wednesday, January 25th. Location and times for each company will be available at Sunday check-in.
- Audition packages are limited to 90 seconds after you slate.
- If you are seeking non-musical theatre employment, perform two contrasting monologues.
- If you are seeking employment with a company producing classical works, perform a classic/verse monologue as part of your audition package.
- If you are seeking musical theatre employment, perform one monologue and 16-20 bars of a song.
- An accompanist will be provided for vocalists or you may bring your own accompanist. Pre-recorded accompaniment is not allowed. Singing a cappella is not allowed. See below for how to work with the PA/TI accompanist.
- There is no dance audition scheduled by ACTF, however, on callback day, one or more companies may arrange for a dance audition. Individual companies that schedule a dance audition are responsible for contacting those they have called back with the details of the event.
- When you submit your registration form, include a resume in Word or PDF format with your first and last name included in the file name. You also have the option of submitting a headshot in JPG format.
Technical Interview Process
- Technical Interviews are Wednesday, January 23rd for 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM. and by appointment throughout the week with interviewing companies.
- Please be aware that not all companies will be available for the entire time. Some companies may provide interview opportunities throughout the week, as their schedules permit.
- At the Sunday check-in, some companies will have sign-up sheets for appointments available at the check-in table.
- Interview procedure is at the discretion of each producer. Some companies will conduct group interviews; some will interview individuals by appointment.
- When you submit your registration form, include a resume in either Word or PDF format.
- Be sure to include both your first and last name on the file name.
- If you have a digital portfolio, please provide a link in your resume.
- You may also include a PDF of your portfolio or carry a hard copy to your interviews
PA/TI Accompanist Guidelines
- If you are working with the PA/TI accompanist, you will be able to speak with them just prior to your turn.
- This conversation is NOT counted as part of your 90 second audition.
- Be concise in your conversation.
- Tell the accompanist the order of your audition pieces. if you are presenting your monologue first.
- Note the final line of the monologue at the top of your sheet music.
- All sheet music should be copied on clean paper, with no smudges.
- Be sure the copy does not cut of the key signatures, piano line, or any other musical notations.
- Put your music in a three-ring binder and make sure it is printed double-sided and right side up.
- DO NOT use sheet protectors. clearly mark your start and stopping places and any cuts.
