FACULTY ACTING SHOWCASE

Faculty Acting Showcase
New format and options for 2023!

The Faculty Acting Showcase is back after a two-year pandemic hiatus, with new options for participation! If you’re a teacher and an actor, chances are your students would LOVE to see you up on stage, making a connection with your scene partner and responding in the moment, so we hope you’ll volunteer for this fun and popular event.

There are two options for participating. You can choose one or both options!
  • Option 1: Modified “splash” format, performance with script in hand – About a month before the festival, you’ll receive a 5-minute scene to work on without knowing who your partner will be. Just prior to the Showcase, you’ll meet your partner and “splash” into the scene, with script in hand. This adjustment preserves the “for the first time” quality of the “splash” format, but without the off-book terror!
  • Option 2: Prepared piece(s) of your choice, no longer than 5 minutes total – monologue and/or a scene with a partner. (If you choose a scene, you are responsible for finding a partner and rehearsing with them.)

Questions? Contact Faculty Acting Showcase Coordinator Nadine Schmidt, nadine.schmidt@smsu.edu

Entry for this event is now closed.
