ENTRY INFORMATION
Any school interested in participating in Costume Parade is responsible for completing an official entry and following the guidelines as listed below. *All productions must have been produced during the Festival 56 year (January 2023 - December 2023) and have been an Associate or Participating entry in KCACTF.
There are two ways in which you may be invited to bring costumes from an Associate or Participating entry production
In order to be considered for Costume Parade you must do the following:
*Hairstyles/wigs, makeup, and accessories are encouraged and expected to be included in Costume Parade.
DEADLINE: Regardless of how your show is nominated, the deadline is December 1, 2023 at 5:00 PM for all entries AND digital photographs.
Questions? Costume Parade Coordinator, Krissy Sneshkoff ([email protected])
Judging and Selection Process: Once all productions have been entered and photographs received, the productions will be “blinded”—all references to school and designer will be removed. For this reason, please do not include school name or designer name in the file-names of photographs. (For ease in processing, please label with the show then picture #. For example a picture from A Streetcar Named Desire could be entitled Streetcar4.jpg. Please be clear and concise with file names.)
These materials will then be forwarded to at least two costume designers from outside Region 5, who will review and rank them. These rankings will be presented to the Region 5 Executive Committee at the time of the Regional Selection Meeting in December. The Executive Committee will make the final determination of productions, based on such factors as the number of available spots in the parade, whether a production is already being invited as a festival production, or other pertinent factors.
On or about January 7, 2024, schools will be notified as to whether or not they are being invited to the parade.
