DIRECTING INTENSIVE WORKSHOP:
The Directing Intensive is tentatively scheduled on Tuesday and Thursday mornings during the festival week.

Directing a play requires a myriad of skills:  actor coaching, storytelling, composition, and managing rehearsals, among many others.  In this two day intensive workshop, we will explore what it takes to direct a play through a series of hands-on exercises. You must commit to both days if you choose to sign up for this workshop as you will have exercises to complete for the second workshop.

A COMPLETE APPLICATION CONSISTS OF:
  1. A completed entry form that includes a statement of intent and a list of your training and experience in directing. ALL INFORMATION SHOULD BE ENTERED IN ENTRY FORM.
  2. Statement of intent should explain your interest in directing in your future and confirming your intent to attend the Region 5 Festival, including all the requisite workshop meetings and activities.
  3. A faculty member (mentor) in the student's home theatre department must verify the student status of the student director. A request for this information will be sent upon receipt of student's entry submission.  It is the director's responsibility to ensure the appropriate faculty has completed the online form verifying the status of all students involved in the scene.

Possible topics may include:
Working with actors
Staging/composition
Storytelling
Rehearsal schedules, pre-work, analysis
Director/Designer collaboration

Attendance is limited and only students who apply in advance will be guaranteed a slot.
Please remember, in order to participate in this event you must register for the festival
