Call for Festival 52 Leadership

Would you like to be more involved in Region 5?  We you like to help plan Festival 52 in Sioux Falls?  We are now asking for volunteers to self-nominate for leadership positions.  Please fill out the nomination forms (links below at the end of this list) by May 10, 2019.

KCACTF REGION 5 LEADERSHIP POSITION DESCRIPTIONS

REGIONAL ADVISORY BOARD POSITIONS
    Festival Registrar: The responsibilities of the Festival Registrar shall include but are not limited to:
  • Monitoring all festival registrations in the online database
  • Oversight of payment processing for all festival registrations
  • Making, assembling and distributing festival name badges
  • Working in consultation with the regional chair and providing festival reports
  • Training volunteers and managing the festival Registration/Information Desk

    Irene Ryan Coordinator: The responsibilities of the Irene Ryan Coordinator shall include but are not limited to:
  • Oversees all aspects of the Irene Ryan Acting Scholarship audition process
  • Works closely with Regional Chair and Irene Ryan associates.
  • Ensures the proper registration and eligibility of all who register.
  • Coordinates scheduling of the audition process at festival.
  • Works with and orients responders.
  • Files a post-festival report

    Workshop Coordinator: The responsibilities of the Workshop Coordinator shall include but are not limited to:
  • Solicits workshops and intensives from across region
  • Coordinates equipment needs for workshops and intensives
  • Schedules workshop and intensives spaces during festival
  • Coordinates student workshop monitors during festival
  • Oversees workshops and intensives throughout the week of the festival.
  • Files a post-festival report

    Directing Initiatives Coordinator: The responsibilities of the Directing Initiative Coordinator shall include but are not limited to:
  • Coordinates activities of SDC initiative for regional festival, working closely with Regional Chair on respondent, scheduling and programming needs
  • Coordinates assignments and information gathering and communications with 10 Minute Play Directors and Mentors
  • Solicits directing workshop proposals from across Region 5 for festival
  • Files a post-festival report


     Musical Theatre Initiative Coordinator: The responsibilities of the MTI Coordinator shall include but are not limited to:
  • Coordinates activities of Musical Theatre Initiative for regional festival, working closely with Regional Chair on respondents, scheduling, and programming needs
  • Works closely with the MTI Dance coordinator to plan festival activities.
  • Files a post-festival report

    Professional Auditions & Interviews Coordinator: The responsibilities of the Professional Audition & Interviews Coordinator shall include but are not limited to:
  • Oversees all aspects of the Professional Auditions and Interviews process
  • Solicits professional companies to participate in the process and clearly articulates the expectations and process.
  • Ensures the proper registration and eligibility of all who register.
  • Coordinates scheduling of the audition/interview process at festival.
  • Files a post-festival report

    Stage Management Coordinator: The responsibilities of the Stage Management Coordinator shall include but are not limited to:
  • Coordinates activities of the National Stage Management Fellowship for regional festival, working closely with Regional Chair on respondent, scheduling and programming needs
  • Coordinates assignments and information gathering and communications with various coordinators to establish festival stage management needs
  • Solicits Stage Management workshop proposals from across Region 5 for festival
Dramaturgy Coordinator The responsibilities of the Dramaturgy Coordinator shall include but are not limited to:
  • Coordinates activities and workshops of the National Initiatives, working closely with Regional Chair on respondent, scheduling and programming needs
  • Solicits Dramaturgy workshops from across region
  • Files a post-festival report


Institute for Theatre Journalism and Advocacy Coordinator: The responsibilities of the ITJA Coordinator shall include but are not limited to:
  • Coordinates activities and workshops of the National Initiatives, working closely with Regional Chair on respondent, scheduling and programming needs.
  • Solicits workshops in Criticism, Writing, and Advocacy from across the region
  • Files a post-festival report

FESTIVAL MANAGEMENT TEAM POSITIONS

    Equity, Diversity & Inclusion Coordinator: The responsibilities of the Equity, Diversity & Inclusion Coordinator shall include but are not limited to:
  • Coordinates activities and workshops relating to EDI at the regional festival, working closely with Regional Chair on selecting festival themes, respondents, scheduling and programming needs.

    LORT Aspire Arts Leadership Coordinator: The responsibilities of the LORT Aspire Arts Leadership Coordinator shall include but are not limited to:
  • Coordinates activities of the Lort ASPIRE Arts Leadership Program for regional festival, working closely with Regional Chair on respondent, scheduling and programming needs
  • Solicits Management workshop proposals from across Region 5 for festival
  • Files a post-festival report

    Invited Scenes Showcase Coordinator: The responsibilities of the Invited Scenes Showcase Coordinator shall include but are not limited to:
  • Manages contact and needs with all universities that have scenes recommended for invitation.
  • Once the scenes are selected by the Regional Selection Team, works with invited scenes to set an order and establish technical requirements.
  • Coordinates and directs the Invited Scenes at the regional festival.

    Devised Theatre Coordinator: The responsibilities of the Devised Theatre Coordinator shall include but are not limited to:
  • Coordinates activities of the Devised Theatre Project for regional festival, working closely with Regional Chair on respondent, scheduling and programming needs
  • Solicits Devised Theatre workshop proposals from across Region 5 for festival
  • Files a post-festival report

    Stage Crew Showdown Coordinator: The responsibilities of the Stage Crew Showdown Coordinator shall include but are not limited to:
  • Coordinates activities of the Stage Crew Showdown for regional festival, working closely with Regional Chair on respondent, scheduling and programming needs
  • Communicates with entered teams on procedure and scheduling.

    Drag Show Coordinator: The responsibilities of the Drag Show Coordinator shall include but are not limited to:
  • Coordinates activities of the Drag Show for regional festival, working closely with Workshop Coordinator on scheduling and programming needs.
  • Solicits workshops as part of the Drag Intensive
  • Solicits and work with the host, workshop presenters, stage managers and designers to assemble the performance at the festival
    Costume Parade Coordinator: The responsibilities of the Costume Parade Coordinator shall include but are not limited to:
  • Oversee all aspects of Costume Parade at regional festival and prior to regional festival.
  • Prior to regional festival, accept photo entries to Costume Parade, making sure entrants photos follow costume parade guidelines.
  • Acquire selectors from outside region 5 to rank entries
  • Curate the blinded photo entries and disburse them to the out-of-region respondents for ranking.
  • Send ranked entries to regional chair for discussion at December meeting.
  • At festival, coordinate the drop off and storage of costumes.
  • Coordinate a professional runway style presentation of the live costume parade performance in conjunction with the Costume Parade Director.

Costume Parade Director: The responsibilities of the Costume Parade Director shall include but are not limited to:
  • Direct the runway style presentation of the live costume parade performance in conjunction with the Costume Parade Coordinator.
  • Work with the student emcees to develop a professional presentation of the parade.
    
Load In/Out Coordinator: The responsibilities of the Load In/Out Coordinator shall include but are not limited to:
  • Coordinate the response process for responding to the load in/out process for invited festival productions.
  • Secure regional faculty to respond to the load in/out process at the festival.
  • Work in conjunction with the regional chair in scheduling the load in/out responses at the festival.
  • Convene a meeting with the load in/out respondents to determine the recipient of the Golden Handtruck.

    College Fair Coordinator: The responsibilities of the College Fair Coordinator shall include but are not limited to:
  • Facilitate the college fair at the regional festival by assigning spaces and assisting schools in preparation and set up of the Fair.

    Faculty Acting Showcase Coordinator: The responsibilities of the Faculty Acting Showcase Coordinator shall include but are not limited to:
  • Secure faculty participants for the Faculty Acting Showcase.
  • Assign and distribute scenes to the participants.
  • Host the showcase at the regional festival.

Portfolio Review Coordinator: The responsibilities of the Portfolio Review Coordinator shall include but are not limited to:
  • Secure regional faculty as responders for the portfolio review sessions.
  • Work with registered students to schedule portfolio review times.

 Fringe Festival Coordinator: The responsibilities of the Fringe Festival Coordinator shall include but are not limited to:
  • Coordinates activities of Fringe Festival for regional festival, working closely with Regional Chair and host school on scheduling and programming needs
  • Solicits Devised work for Fringe Festival following KCACTF Artistic Director’s prompt

Hospitality Coordinator: The responsibilities of the Hospitality Coordinator shall include but are not limited to:
  • Procure reservations for FSG dinners at 5 different restaurants/venues at festival location
  • Plan limited menu dinners at each restaurant keeping within budget and working with contact at each restaurant.
  • Procure bartender(s) for Hospitality Suite or Bartend in Hospitality Suite.
  • Work with Hotel for limited hot appetizers in suite.
  • Procure light appetizers and alcohol for suite.
  • Work with Regional Chair to provide/procure food/drink at any additional events as needed at festival.
Collaborative Theatre Challenge Coordinator: The responsibilities of the Collaborative Theatre challenge coordinator shall include but are not limited to:
  • Work with the NPP chair to procure a play that will be the focus of the challenge.
  • Work with the DTM chair to procure space in the Design Expo to display work the challenge would like to display.  
  • Lead 3 workshop sessions where the play is discussed, analyzed and designed.


ASSOCIATE COORDINATOR POSITIONS
    Irene Ryan Associate Coordinator (Royalties & Permissions): The responsibilities of the Irene Ryan Associate Coordinator (Royalties & Permissions) Coordinator shall include but are not limited to:
  • Ensuring that all registered participants have properly obtained all necessary permissions to perform selections.
  • Work closely with and under the supervision of the Irene Ryan Coordinator


    Irene Ryan Associate Coordinator (Scheduling): The responsibilities of the Irene Ryan Associate Coordinator (Scheduling) Coordinator shall include but are not limited to:
  • Helps to schedule student participants during each round of the audition.
  • Work closely with and under the supervision of the Irene Ryan Coordinator

    Associate Workshop Coordinator: The responsibilities of the Associate Workshop Coordinator shall include but are not limited to:
  • Work closely with and under the supervision of the Workshop Coordinator to oversee workshops and intensives throughout the festival week and ensure that all volunteer needs are covered.

    Musical Theatre Associate Coordinator (Dance): The responsibilities of the Musical Theatre Associate Coordinator (Dance) shall include but are not limited to:
  • Work closely with the Musical Theatre Coordinator on the programming at the regional festival.
  • Select and choreograph the musical number to be used as part of the regional intensive.

    Musical Theatre Associate Coordinator: The responsibilities of the Musical Theatre Associate Coordinator shall include but are not limited to:
  • Work closely with and under the supervision of the Musical Theatre Intensive Coordinator to ensure smooth festival programming

    Professional Auditions & Interviews Associate Coordinator: The responsibilities of the Professional Auditions & Interviews Associate Coordinator shall include but are not limited to:
  • Work closely with and under the supervision of the Professional Auditions and Interviews Coordinator to ensure smooth festival programming
  • Assist in ensuring successful timing of each round and posting of call backs.

    Professional Auditions & Interviews Associate Coordinator (Tech Interviews): The responsibilities of the Professional Auditions & Interviews Associate Coordinator (Tech Interviews) shall include but are not limited to:
  • Work closely with and under the supervision of the Professional Auditions and Interviews Coordinator to ensure the scheduling and implementation of the technical interviews

 Directing Initiatives Associate Coordinator: The responsibilities of the Directing Initiatives Associate Coordinator shall include but are not limited to:
  • Coordinates the Directing Intensive workshops.
  • Assist Coordinator in all of the above listed duties

    Devised Theatre Associate Coordinator: The responsibilities of the Devised Theatre Associate Coordinator shall include but are not limited to:
  • Assist Coordinator in all of the above listed duties

    Stage Crew Showdown Associate Coordinator: The responsibilities of the Stage Crew Showdown Associate Coordinator shall include but are not limited to:
  • Assist Coordinator in all of the above listed duties

    Institute for Theatrical Journalism and Advocacy Associate Coordinator: The responsibilities of the Institute for Theatrical Journalism and Advocacy Associate Coordinator shall include but are not limited to:
  • Assist Coordinator in all of the above listed duties

    Invited Scenes Associate Coordinator: The responsibilities of the Invited Scenes Associate Coordinator shall include but are not limited to:
