This intensive is an opportunity for students at all levels of experience who are interested in theatre management and arts administration to celebrate and develop their skills. This year students will be asked to prepare a proposal for a start-up non-profit 501(c)3 theatre company. Information will be assembled and displayed at the Design Expo. At the festival, students will make a mock pitch to potential donors and attend several management-oriented workshops.
FESTIVAL 50 STUDENT THEATRE MANAGERS
Throughout the festival year, regional respondents nominate productions they feel should be included in the Costume Parade. Schools may also self-nominate their best work. This year, all the nominations were "blinded" for anonymity and sent to professionals from different regions, which then ranked all the entries. Using these rankings, the Regional Executive Committee then determined the festival invitees. Check out the interesting and elegant threads on Friday night after the Irene Ryan Finals!
FESTIVAL 50 COSTUME PARADE SELECTIONS
The Expo provides student designers and technicians the opportunity to showcase their work at the regional festival and receive feedback from professionals working in the field. Awards are presented for designs and other allied crafts appraised on the basis of quality, effectiveness, originality, and visual presentation techniques.
