FACULTY DIRECTING WORKSHOP SERIES
Welcome to the Faculty Directing Series! We hope to develop a series of workshops at each Region 5 festival which will become a popular meeting place for directors. Although this series is primarily intended for faculty and graduate students interested in sharing skills to improve stage directing, serious undergraduate students are also welcome to attend the workshops.
Faculty and graduate students who are interested in leading a workshop should fill out a workshop proposal form. Some possible topics might be:
The challenges in directing a Shakespeare play (or Shaw, Chekhov, Beckett, etc)
Creating interesting pictures/composition on stage
How to work with and incorporate dramaturgical work into a production
A forum on rehearsal processes
Working with music directors and choreographers
