“SPLASH” INTO THE FACULTY ACTING SHOWCASE!
If you are a teacher and an actor, you know your students would LOVE to see you up on stage. Some want to be inspired by seeing you live truthfully under imaginary circumstances, make a connection with your scene partner, and respond in the moment. And some, well, they just want to see if you really practice what you preach! Show your students (and curious colleagues) what you can do at the festival event that is unlike any other – the Faculty Acting Showcase. A few weeks before the festival, you’ll receive a scene to study and memorize without knowing who your partner will be. All is revealed at the Showcase, where you will meet your partner and “splash” into the scene together at the moment of performance – which gives a whole new, literal meaning to playing a scene as if “for the first time”! Those who’ve done it swear it’s a great adrenaline rush and a really good time! If you participate in a "splash" scene, you also have the option to do a prepared monologue or song later in the showcase.
