PROFESSIONAL AUDITION PROCESS
-
Audition packages are limited to 90 seconds (including your two pieces) after you slate.
-
If you are seeking non-musical theatre employment, perform two contrasting monologues.
-
If you are seeking employment with a company producing classical works, perform a classic/verse monologue as part of your audition package.
-
If you are seeking musical theatre employment, perform one monologue and 16-20 bars of a song.
-
All auditions with singing must include live or recorded accompaniment. Singing a cappella is not allowed.
-
There is no dance audition scheduled by KCACTF, however, on callback day, one or more companies may arrange for a dance audition. Individual companies that plan a dance audition are responsible for contacting those they have called back with the details of the event.
-
When you submit your audition, include a resume in PDF format with your first and last name included in the file name. You also have the option of submitting a headshot in JPG or PDF format.
-
General guidelines for video submissions:
-
Record your video in landscape mode (not portrait).
-
Position the camera at eye-level.
-
Center yourself in the frame and make sure your body is visible from the top of your head to your waist.
-
Make sure you are well-lit and your face is clearly visible.
-
Make sure your audio is clear and audible.
-
Include your slate/introduction at the start of your video, as you would for an in-person audition. This should include your name, title of your piece(s), and the playwright(s)/composer(s). This will not count towards the 90-second time limit.
-
Put your strongest piece first in the video.
-
You do not need to edit the video to include anything additional, such as a title card.
-
TECHNICAL INTERVIEW PROCESS
-
Submit your portfolio and resume in PDF format via the link below.

Be sure to include both your first and last name in the file name.
-
If you have a digital portfolio, please provide a link in your resume.
