Design, Technology & Management

KCACTF offers a wide range of opportunities in Design, Technology and Management for students of all experience levels. Events at the festival include The Expo, Costume Parade, Portfolio Review, Stage Crew Olympics, and Stage Management.

The Expo

The Expo provides student designers, technicians, managers, and dramaturgs the opportunity to showcase their work at the regional festival and receive feedback from professionals working in the field. Awards are presented for designs and other allied crafts appraised on the basis of quality, effectiveness, originality, and visual presentation techniques.

Stage Crew Olympics

Compete in teams in various competitions to be the best stage-crew.

Collaborative Theatre Challenge

The Collaborative Theatre Challenge was developed in an effort to encourage continued opportunities for growth, development and collaboration among student theatre artists. Over the course of 2-3 sessions throughout the festival week, the Collaborative Theatre Challenge brings together a playwright, student directors, dramaturgs, and designers to collaborate on the development of design ideas for a provided script.

Stage Management

Participate in Stage Management activities at the festival and display your Production Materials.

Portfolio and Resume Review

Students are invited to share in a portfolio review session at the festival. Each participating student will be assigned a 15-minute time slot to present their portfolio and receive feedback from a panel of theatre professionals and academics.
