Best Practices

Region 5 wants to ensure a safe and healthy festival for all participants. Please consider the following best practices!

Before the Festival

Get vaccinated and/or boosted against COVID-19 and the Flu

Please do not travel to Des Moines if you are sick or have tested positive for COVID-19 or the Flu.
Pack warm clothing, including a coat/jacket, hat, and gloves.

Please refrain from wearing strong fragrances while at the festival
To help prevent illness, wash your hands frequently or use hand sanitizer if handwashing is not available
Please wear a face mask if you begin to have any symptoms of illness
IF YOU BECOME ILL (COVID-19, FLU, etc.) WHILE AT THE FESTIVAL:
- Do NOT attend any festival in-person events.
- Isolate as much as possible. If you absolutely must come into contact with others, wear a face mask.
- Please email the coordinator of any events you are scheduled to participate in. Your event coordinator will provide guidance on how to handle your participation in that event.
