REGIONAL EXECUTIVE-TRACK POSITIONS
Effective immediately, applications/self-nominations are being accepted for the following Region 5 executive-tracking positions:
REGION 5 VICE-CHAIR
REGION 5 VICE-CHAIR OF DESIGN AND TECHNOLOGIES
REGION 5 VICE-CHAIR OF NATIONAL PLAYWRITING PROGRAMS
Nominees must meet the following criteria:
1). Candidates for regional office must have at least a part time affiliation with an accredited institution of post-secondary education in our region and possess an established reputation and a positive rapport with faculty in Region V.
2). Candidates for the above offices must be willing to commit to an extended period of service to KCACTF. Under normal conditions, Vice-Chairs generally move into the position of Chair for the same area after a three year term as vice-chair.
3). Candidates must possess a distinguished record of artistic and academic achievement in their appropriate area(s) (Design, Playwriting, Directing, Acting, etc.)
4). Candidates should have a significant record of service and involvement with KCACTF in Region 5 and/or in other regions, with a minimum of 2 years in Region 5.
5). Candidates should have a demonstrable record of administrative experience.
6). Candidates must meet all criteria in the current version of the “Region V Goals and Governance” Guide, published on the Region V website (www.kcactf5.org; “About Us.”)
Candidates should submit a nomination packet consisting of:
1). A letter of interest from the candidate addressing his/her reasons for pursuing the position, the amount and nature of support s/he expects to receive from the home institution (including home department and supervisors/administration,) previous involvement with KCACTF in or beyond Region V, and expertise in the area for which s/he is applying.
2). A copy of the candidate's C.V. including evidence of training, administrative experience, artistic accomplishment, knowledge of a wide range of dramatic literature and production styles, and expertise in the area of application/nomination. A detailed account of KCACTF activities should be included.
3). Two or more letters of recommendation from individuals who are familiar with the nominee's record of service to KCACTF and his/her work as a creative artist, administrator and as a teacher and evaluator of student work. At least one letter must be from someone at the candidate’s institution who serves in a supervisory role to the candidate; e.g., area or division head, department chair, dean or associate dean, etc.
For fullest consideration, completed packets should be received no later than September 8, 2008. Please make every effort to submit all materials in your packet at the same time.

PROCESS AND REVIEW:
1). The Regional Chair will review all applications, in consultation with the Region V Executive Committee, to confirm whether the candidate meets the criteria listed.
2). Viable candidates will be required to have an in-person or telephone interview with a) Regional Chair Tom Woldt; b) at least one or more of the following—Regional Vice-Chair/Chair-Elect Anne Byrd, Regional Chair or Vice-Chair in the NPP or D and T as applicable to area of application (David Crespy/Richard Herman in NPP, Sharon Sobel/John Paul in D and T.)
3). If more than one viable application is received for a position, any necessary selection/election information will be provided to Region V constituents.
4). Applicants appointed/elected and certified by the Regional Chair and the REC will have their materials forwarded, along with a letter of support from the Regional Chair and any other items requested, by the Regional Chair (only) to the National Executive Committee.
5). If granted, final approval by the National Executive Committee at the National Festival Meetings in April, 2009, will confirm official appointment to the position, as well as the beginning of the successful candidate’s three-year term.
