| Subject: Dramaturgy/Literary Management Internship at Actors Theatre of Louisville- please forward 2010-2011 Season Internships in Dramaturgy/Literary Management Actors Theatre of Louisville offers season-long internships in its Literary Office. During the August – May season, Literary Interns work closely with the staff on all theatre projects, including: Humana Festival of New American Plays National Ten-Minute Play Contest Apprentice/Intern Showcase Productions Publication Projects Actors Theatre’s 2010-2011 Season Who Should Apply & What You’ll Be Doing This internship is designed to train individuals in the fields of dramaturgy and literary management in the professional theatre by allowing Literary Interns to: work with professional playwrights and directors, conduct research for classical and premiere productions, write articles for theatre publications, attend rehearsals, read new plays, and participate in all administrative and artistic aspects of the Literary Department. Literary intern work is varied and includes: serving as dramaturgs for apprentice company productions, attending rehearsals, assisting with playwright residencies, conducting library research, reading new plays, writing articles for Actors Theatre publications and educational study guides, and providing administrative support for various literary projects. Interested Persons Should Submit: 1. Literary Internships have proven useful for developing dramaturgs, directors, playwrights and theatre administrators. Past literary interns have successfully applied to graduate training programs at schools such as Columbia University, Yale School of Drama, The Michener Center for Writers at UT-Austin and Brown University or have moved on to positions such as: Director of New Play Development, Actors Theatre of Louisville; Literary Manager, The Huntington Theatre Company; Publications Director, PlayScripts, Inc.; Literary Manager, Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company; and Literary Manager, The Goodman Theatre.
