The Department of Theatre and Film at the University of Idaho invites applications for a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor of Acting, appointment beginning August 2009. Responsibilities include teaching beginning, intermediate and advanced acting at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Successful candidates will have a demonstrated expertise in teaching stage movement and/or voice with a secondary emphasis in teaching Shakespeare. Terminal degree and teaching experience at university level, or professional equivalent required. Salary commensurate with experience. Assistant Professor of Theatre Arts/Technical Director/Designer/Shop Supervisor The School of Arts and Humanities invites applications for a tenure-track position to start in August 2009. This position requires a M.F.A. or equivalent terminal degree required for appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor; near completion of M.F.A. or equivalent terminal degree acceptable for initial appointment at rank of Instructor. Academic or practical background in theatre arts with experience in technical theatre. Training and/or experience in scenic design, sound and lighting design, AutoCAD, rigging, carpentry, and safe power tool operation. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to interact collegially and effectively with a variety of constituencies. Preferred qualifications include applicable professional experience and demonstrated organizational skills; demonstrated excellence in college teaching; welding skill. Primary responsibilities for the position include teaching undergraduate courses (Introduction to Theatre, Stagecraft, Scene Design, Lighting, and Play Production for Secondary Schools), and directing the technical aspects of the program. Collaborative skills and expertise in set design, lighting, sound, and props are preferred. Some work in evenings and weekends is required. This position requires the capability to climb ladders and lift up to 50 pounds. Competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Attractive and comprehensive fringe benefit package. TCU Department of Theatre invites applications for a dynamic teacher of acting and voice, and a skilled director for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor of Theatre, specializing in Acting and Voice for the Actor. The TCU undergraduate theatre program offers the BFA and BA degrees in a liberal arts curriculum and seeks a collaborative colleague who is an outstanding classroom teacher and director. Position begins August, 2009. Qualifications: Terminal degree (MFA or Ph.D), or significant professional experience, required. Minimum of 3-5 years university teaching experience preferred. Professional theatre experience in acting and/or directing is also highly desirable. Required Duties: Regular teaching of various undergraduate levels of Acting, Voice & Speech (including IPA), Advanced Voice & Speech, Dialects and general education Survey of Theatre classes. Regular directing assignments of plays and musicals from all periods in the Theatre TCU season are possible.
