KCACTF Region 5 Portfolio Review
Are the following questions making you toss and turn as you prepare for job or graduate school interviews?
Do I show all my work or only the best pieces?
Do I arrange chronologically or by strength?
Do I show full size drafting or reduce?
Are you a senior interested in getting feedback on your portfolio before attending URTA’s or other graduate school or job interviews? Then sign up to have a team of distinguished professionals/educators give you feedback! Review slots will begin at the festival on Friday, January 25th at 1:00 p.m.
Students who are in their senior year or graduate students preparing to enter the work force are eligible to register for the KCACTF Region V Portfolio Reviews. To register, please contact Tim Case at tcase@usd.edu . In order for a student’s registration to be considered complete, a faculty mentor from his/her home institution will need to vouch for the academic/student status and preparedness of the student in question by email. Students with a completed registration will be given a time slot on a first-registered/first entered basis as long as slots remain.
Portfolio Guidelines
Students can show a physical portfolio, electronic portfolio, or a combination of the two mediums. Note: the student is responsible to provide any equipment needed for electronic portfolio. Depending on number of registrants, each student will be allotted a set number of minutes to present their materials and will receive feedback for a similar set number of minutes. The following areas will be eligible for portfolio review: Costume Design and/or Construction, Scenic Design, Technical Direction, Lighting Design, Sound Design, and Properties.
This session will be open for public viewing. Students in their junior year are encouraged to attend as a viewing audience member in order to assist in preparing for the 2009 Portfolio Reviews.
